Capital Projects

Capital projects are major investments in the university’s physical infrastructure that provide long-term value to the campus community. These projects include the construction of new facilities, renovations and expansions of existing buildings, utility and infrastructure improvements, site and landscape enhancements, and significant maintenance or modernization efforts.

Unlike routine maintenance and operational activities, capital projects are strategic investments that support CMU’s academic mission, enhance the student experience, improve campus operations and ensure the long-term sustainability of university facilities. Guided by the Campus Master Plan, capital projects help transform the university’s vision into reality by aligning physical improvements with institutional priorities and future needs.
